Daniel Neil – Founder

Daniel is a professional Leadership Development Facilitator, Trainer and Operations Manager with a wealth of experience. Daniel’s experience comes from a full 25-year career within the Royal Artillery, British Army, attaining the rank of Warrant Officer, and serving operationally in Northern Ireland, Kosovo and with the United Nations in Cyprus in a Humanitarian role. During his career he was responsible for the design and delivery of soldiers’ career progression technical trade courses and Junior Non-Commissioned Officers leadership development for promotion programmes. During a resettlement period Daniel studied for, and achieved, a level 4 Adult education teaching certificate with City and Guilds and a Diploma in Administrative Management with the Institute for Administrative management. On leaving the Army, Daniel’s second career continued in a similar vein, lecturing on Public Uniformed course, particularly Communications and Signals, at Gateshead College. Then joining a performance management organisation at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst where he enjoyed 14 years of successful programme and project management, Leadership and Team Development programme delivery in the UK and internationally. Daniel is a licensed practitioner in a range of psychometric tools such as Insights Discovery, DiSC, Team Performance Scan and MBTI.

A coach with a proven record for the design and delivery of bespoke development courses and for working with teams and individuals from a wide range of high-profile companies and organisations from the public, private, sports and education sectors.

Daniel is also a fitness and nutrition trainer, keen footballer, he enjoys and delivers bootcamp fitness sessions, likes surfing, body boarding, skiing and motorcycling.

Emily Edmondson – Associate Consultant

Emily has 12 years’ worth of experience designing and delivering a broad range of leadership development programmes for audiences ranging from graduates and youth to chief executive level. Working for a performance management organisation working out of the Royal Military
Academy Sandhurst and Oman, Emily has delivered programmes to a broad client base,
including the financial and government sectors and has delivered programmes across the
globe as well as in the UK. Emily’s previous work experience was in the legal sector, she is LPC qualified and has a degree in History and Law from the University of the West of England. Emily is qualified to use the MBTI and the SDI psychometric profiling tools.

Clients appreciate Emily’s energy and enthusiasm when facilitating and her honesty when it
comes to giving individual and team feedback. They also appreciate her cultural awareness
and ability to appropriately challenge when delivering a global intervention.

Outside of work Emily is very active and enjoys demanding physical challenges, her latest
being a 54-mile trail ultramarathon.

Mark Byerley – Associate Consultant

Mark is a dynamic and committed associate consultant, specialising in leadership and management development and the design and delivery of impactful training programmes. Following a distinguished 23-year career in the Royal Artillery, where he gained exceptional leadership, planning, and adaptability skills in high-pressure and dynamic environments, Mark transitioned into a 15-year career in Further Education.

In this time, Mark has focused on creating and delivering training solutions that achieve measurable outcomes. He successfully led the £4.8 million Local Skills Improvement Fund (LSIF) project in West London, managed workforce development strategies and developed high-performing teams to support organisational success.

Mark’s passion lies in empowering individuals and organisations, he employs coaching and mentoring approaches to cultivate resilience and foster excellence. With expertise in the delivery of training, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and innovative training design, his solutions are both practical and sustainable.

Mark combines his military and educational experience to deliver exceptional results for Red on Blue’s clients.

Martha Foley – Associate Consultant

Martha is a leadership development consultant and coach with extensive experience leading teams across the public, private, and charity sectors. With a background in policing, including intelligence, covert operations, and high-risk investigations, she brings a strategic and resilient approach to leadership.

Martha helps leaders gain clarity, confidence, and impact, delivering coaching and development programmes that drive real-world results.

Richard Mann – Associate Consultant

Richard is a former Special Forces operator (SBS) and now a Mental Skills & Peak Performance Coach. His unique experience combines service in high performance teams in high pressured environments with extensive study of psychology and the key drivers of human performance. This background and delivery of his coaching ethos and approach helps him train elite athletes, teams and business leaders to reach their full potential, so they can perform on demand, under pressure and win.

Richard began his career in the Royal Marines (RM) before completing UK Special Forces selection to serve with the Special Boat Service (SBS). His career in the RM/SBS spanned 14 years and saw him deployed worldwide on numerous conventional and counter terrorism operational, and training tasks.

Richard has pursued a lifelong study of peak performance and how we train the mental skills to be at our best. This study culminated in an intensive mentorship and ongoing coaching programme with Dr Don Greene*, one of the world’s leading experts and practitioners of performance psychology.

Tony Borgnis – Associate Consultant

Tony was an Infantry Officer in the Army from 1993 to 2012, serving in a variety of operational theatres including Northern Ireland, Bosnia and Afghanistan.  During his military career Tony was also a leadership instructor and trainer at several different postings in the UK including the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Warminster, Westbury and Shrivenham. 

Since leaving the Army, Tony worked in the simulation and training division of Thales, and at Equiniti (a financial services outsourcing company), here he was rapidly promoted to Director level in Group Operations and Transformation & Change respectively until the end of 2018. Tony took the lead on all things leadership, including the development and roll out of an Equiniti Leadership model in 2018.

Since 2019 Tony has run his own Leadership Consultancy business and been embedded in a number of business providing mentoring, coaching and strategy support to the senior leadership team. Tony is passionate about leadership, and is currently developing his delivery of leadership training as an associate with a number of Leadership institutions in the UK. Here he hopes to bring a blended and practical view of Leadership knowledge and experience from both the military and the business worlds.

Nicky Clough – Associate Consultant

Nicky has over 25 years’ experience in Learning and Development and is a Chartered Accountant, specialising in financial and commercial awareness training and leadership and management skills development.

Nicky’s professional career began at KPMG in London where she worked for ten years, first in audit and accounting and then in Human Resources. A spell as an independent consultant followed, delivering financial training programmes for global clients. Since 2007 Nicky has been a Director of a bespoke training and development consultancy that specialises in financial and commercial awareness and business skills.  

Nicky’s key skills are facilitating learning by designing and delivering focused and practical workshops which are stimulating and clear, and the use of a coaching style to promote individual development. She is qualified to use a number of psychometric instruments including MBTI, DiSC and Strengthscope, and is an accredited executive coach.

Recent clients Nicky has worked with include NatWest Group, Santander Consumer (UK), Taylor Wimpey, The Body Shop, Royal Dutch Shell, BlueLight Commercial, Centrica, BPP professional education and The Insolvency Service. 

Zoe Taylor – Associate Consultant

Zoe has over twenty years’ experience delivering commercial awareness and leadership development programmes for a range of audiences. Clients include professional services firms, accounting bodies, global banks and leading retailers. Zoe has extensive experience helping people and organisations achieve their goals by developing more effective behaviours. She is a qualified coach, Strengthscope and DiSC practitioner and recently completed a PQ programme in Positive Intelligence. 

Zoe is a qualified chartered accountant, and trained with PwC after gaining a first-class honours degree in Commerce and French from Birmingham University. Zoe has a track record of operating strategically as MD of a professional education business, and was part of a senior leadership team which led a management buyout and the subsequent integration of a major competitor. She also develops qualifications and assessments for professional bodies in banking and finance.

Zoe is particularly interested in facilitating personal development and change through workshops and experiential programmes. A skilled facilitator, perceptive listener and challenging coach, clients value Zoe’s ability to help individuals and teams understand themselves and their values, address their pre-conceptions, and realise their performance potential. Zoe is also able to leverage her considerable financial skills to help clients understand the commercial impact of their decision-making. She is respected for her ability to build excellent relationships and is credible operating at all levels, from apprentice to senior leader.

In her spare time Zoe works on behalf of the bereavement charity Cruse, using her coaching skills as a bereavement support volunteer and a lay member of their Audit and Finance Committee. She also plays golf and padel tennis, and is a keen dogwalker.
